Today, Satcom1 can proudly announce that first direct customer delivery with SwiftBroadband (SBB) has been activated successfully into the Inmarsat network.

Customer has an EMS Satcom HSD-440 system which supplies 4 channel Swift64 and 2 channels SwiftBroadband installed with Satcom1's AvioIP software installed on AR250 router from NAT Seattle making the network using Blackberry Curve and SIP phones, have bandwidth management, data acceleration and control the satcom network to use SBB where available and for Pacific ocean region to fall back on Swift64 channels.

The result is the customer will enjoy the low cost SBB and fast transfer of data e-mail and Internet via their new SBB services.  Customer is planning to use cell phones actively on-board.

Last SBB satellite is being launched in August 2008 and then testing & final implementation is done.  Inmarsat says customer global SBB connectivity is available Q1 , 2009.

Satcom1 has developed the AvioIP software portfolio, which can provider the users cell phones, Blackberrys and bandwidth management for the internet and e-mail performance.  The solution is provider for widebody aircraft in the router AR250 and in small to midsize aircraft in a tablet PC version to avoid weight and easy management of the satcom network.

Today the AvioIP platform is flying on: A340s, A330s, A320s, A319 and BBJs.  Soon to come on a new aircraft type as Falconjets.
